AT&T NSA Document - att_klein_wired.pdf

It appears, perhaps to no surprise, that the tech category on this blog continues to serve a purpose.

This purpose presently goes beyond simply reviewing services or talking about some type of new technology. Today I present to you, as a mirror, the file att_klein_wired.pdf. This document contains information that I feel is vital to the cause of privacy, accountability, and of great importance for people to educate themselves about the situation that is directly affecting them - indeed, directly affecting You!

The document opens with this message:

AT&T’s Implementation of NSA Spying On American Citizens
31 December 2005

I wrote the following document in 2004 when i became clear to me that AT&T, at the behest of the National Security Agency, had illegally installed secret computer gear designed to spy on internet traffic. At the time I thought this was an outgrowth of the notorious “Total Information Awareness” program which was attacked by defenders of civial liberties. But now it’s been revelaed by the New Yortk Times that the spying program is vastly bigger and was directly authorized by president Bush, as he himself has now admitted, in flagrant violation of specific statutes and Constitutional protections for civil liberties. I am presenting this information to facilitate the dismantling of this dangerous Orwellian project.

Please keep in mind that I don’t know how long I will be able to host this file. You should get it while it’s available, either from this blog or from what I hope to be countless other sources on the ‘net.

It may be hopeless for me to say this, but do not hotlink the file. Host it on your own web site.
