Here are some statistics for my website to give us all an idea of SIM’s performance over the year of 2005. I may start this as a yearly tradition; I don’t really know about that yet.
What I’m going to share here are the stats from the website: number of visitors and the like. If you are curious about any other information then feel free to ask about it. If I can, I may very well tack that info onto this post.
Before I give the stats I need to mention that I changed the domain of my website this last year. Therefore, this information should be taken as my best approximation. I am able to access the old information but I am not sure exactly how AWStats works in regards to the changing of one’s domain. So I accessed the information for myskyra.net and shadowsinmotion.com and here we are. Also keep in mind that HiMysk.com had no data, and that’s a domain that I’ve used as well. Looking back, I should probably have switched to HiMysk.com instead of ShadowsInMotion.com but that’s another matter entirely.
Anyway, SIM’s “year in review”, of sorts.
These numbers do not include visits by robots, worms, or replies with special HTTP status codes.
Domain: myskyra.net
unique visitors: 12,774
# of visits: 27,915 (I’m guess that this is return visitors?)
page views: 77,455
hits on the server: 129,540 (this no doubt includes sub-domains, such as CatHarsis)
The primary keywords for myskyra.net was “dark fantasy”, totalling 7% of visits from search engines. Is that a strange percentage considering the above numbers? Not really: I receive more visits from blog readers than from search engine surfers. In other words, most of my surfers come from either ping services or by RSS feeds otherwise.
myskyra.net is the domain that I used when this website was focused 99% on fantasy, dark fantasy, and paranormal and paranormal-esque subjects. These are subjects which still fascinate me a good bit and those stories are still on this blog if you care to search for them.
I wouldn’t mind returning to some of that content at some point.
domain: shadowsinmotion.com
unique visitors: 3,596
# visits: 7,288
page views: 16,533
# of hits on the server: 24,286
primary keyword for shadowsinmotion.com: kmixer.sys, with 18% of search query visits being for that keyword.
16,370 or more unique visitors total (other services, such as AdBrite, actually gave me an average unique visitor of 80/day. 16,370 works out to maybe 45. So I don’t know if my numbers here are affected by the domain switch or if the rest of the unique visitors counted by AdBrite were bots/worms/et al).
35,203 “visits” in all. I’m guessing that this is return visitors.
93,988 page views.
153,826 hits on the server.
Over all up time: 90% or better (I’d place a bet that it was better than 90%, and my host does gurantee 99.9% up time).
If any of these numbers don’t add up then feel free to let me know which one it is. I have a tendacy to interpose numerics (aka dyslexia by numbers) and it’s quite possible that I fuzzled something in the calculator.
Oh yeah, one last thing. Over the year, this blog barely managed to make enough money to pay for its hosting costs. Yet again I shamelessly ask that if any of the text ads are of interest to you then please do feel free to peruse their site or services.
Good day all, and good luck getting over those hang overs.
~Mysk, the hang over-less one.
I may turn off this WYSIWYG editor soon. grr.. I give up on editing out its farked text formatting for now. I apologize if there is any strange formatting remaining.
