As I have mentioned before on Shadows In Motion, another one of my strong interests is the “strange and the weird”. Unexplained phenomenon has always intrigued me a great deal and it’s safe to say that I have an interest in those subjects that is equal to my interest in computers and technology. SIM started out as a place for me to share those kind of stories and experiences.
I’m going to break my blog’s current mold to post about this. All things considered, I don’t see where I can avoid doing so.
With an interest in these subject it goes without saying that I enjoy the show Coast To Coast AM. Art Bell lead this program for decades and brought me a great deal of entertainment for many years. It’s a great show as long as you keep one foot grounded; even George does okay now and then. :p
Tonight’s show opened with shocking news, this time all too earthly and real. George announced Ramona’s death at the start of the show. It was a quick message with no details as one should probably expect with matters such as this. You could hear in George’s voice how he was affected by the news that he had just given, but he done a very professional job of continuing with the headlines that are traditional to the show’s opening.
It was eventually mentioned that Unknown Country had more information about her passing and you can read that information here. If the server has gone down again (C2C listeners brought it down earlier tonight) and you can’t get to the information, the cause of Ramona’s death was an asthma attack.
I feel and fear for Art. It hurts my head to imagine the messages that he will receive from some of his listeners. Some of them took the subjects on the show a bit too seriously and the last thing that he’ll need are the conspiratorial remarks from those folks.
I suspect that this news doesn’t mean much to my blog’s current readers and I suppose that’s quite alright, but you have to remember your roots and I simply had to mention this. It would not have been right to not observe this here, in my opinion.
A sad, shocking night. Our thoughts are with you, Mr. Bell. We all hope that you, your son, and even your cats pull through.
