Mist Near the Front Door

In a retelling of one of the most classical ghostly experiences that I’ve had a ghostly apparition - or mysterious fog - appears near the front of a friend’s house.
This was one of the many odd little experiences which occurred over at an old friend’s house. That house, as you may come to agree, was quite haunted. Yet I feel that I should clear up something here: I do not believe that “ghosts” exist. Certainly spirits of other types, but the typical idea of a “ghost” seems silly to me. Echoes, impressions - sure. Or perhaps I’m in denial? Hah, you’ll have to decide for yourself.
The majority of people would call this experience a typical haunting. Especially considering the voice we heard at another time. Still, I’ll remain highly doubtful about that and shall let you decide for yourself.
This fellow’s house had a number of… things… happen in it, and in general others didn’t seem to be very comfortable there at night.
This particular experience happened on an evening whilst myself and the other fellow were up later than should be - as usual - and hanging out in the living room. It was cooler in there; much more comfortable than his room.
On this night we were chatting about this-and-that when we noticed something strange toward the front of the living room. Some type of haze, or smoke, was developing near the windows.
Now of course our first concern was that the smoke was coming from a fire. At first, it was fairly difficult to see.
After a few moments however it became much more visible, and moved slowly from our right, to our left, across the wall with the two front windows. It didn’t seem to be coming from any particular source. It was very dark in the room, the scant light which we had coming in from the outside. There was no smell of smoke, certainly no flames visible, and no strange feelings.
The smoke became hazy, and it was very much like a patch of “mist” at the front of the house. This patch moved around near the wall until, eventually, it faded away.
He and I weren’t necessarily frightened. We were probably more perplexed than anything else. This “mist” covered our conversation for awhile longer that night but we eventually moved on to other things.
