Brief Shadow Person Sighting(?)

First I see the “phantasm” that appears to be a young girl standing at the other end of the living room. That experience is followed by a few small odd occurrences of the clock falling down and its time being changed. I moved the clocked and that stopped the issues that I had with it falling down and in general being tinkered with.

Last night I go into the kitchen and, to give the proper setting, the only light source is the room immediately behind me. I was directly next to the fridge when I saw a tall shadow dart across the far end of the room.

Normally there would be nothing strange about this because the light from behind me would cast my shadow into the living room. Also, my distance from the other end of the living room would cause the shadow to appear tall or long.

With the above in mind, and after peering into the living room to see if anything else would happen, I went about attempting to recreat the “shadow person”. I moved forward and backward along with moving side to side, trying to change the size and position of the shadow as well as attempting to catch the light in different ways.

I was unable to recreate the “shadow person”.

In fact, the shadows that I was casting looked nothing like what I saw dart across the far end of the living room. They didn’t come close to matching its appearance.

What I saw move across the room was very very tall, its head coming close to the top of a door way which would make it roughly seven or eight feet tall. It was also slightly darker than any of the shadows that I made and there were no traces of hair on its head. With my shadows I could easily make out my very unbrushed hair.

That’s not to preclude any possible mundane explanations but it certainly makes me go “hmm”.

I wonder what it is with that side of the house? First I see what seems like a little girl and now a possible shadow person. In both cases there were no sensations or feelings being picked up. I simply managed to look into the other room at just the right time.

Interesting. I wonder if there’s anything to it. My first guess would be no but I can’t help but wonder… just a little.

O.k…soooo happy I found someone who has experienced the same thing so I do not seem so crazy! Mid August 2005…we got back from a day trip. My husband is asleep upstairs ( in our new house of 3 weeks ) and the kids ( 4 and 17 months ) are asleep directly behind me on the couch. It is approximately 1 AM in the morning and I am watching TLC What Not To Wear ( I think ). I have 2 huge windows in this new place with our med. size t.v directly in the middle. The dining room is directly across from the right big window and I am sitting on the floor. Something catches my eye so I turn my head only a fraction directly to the right big window and see , clear as day a shadow ( or silouette as I call it )appear out of nowhere and move at a med. pace right across the window and then disappear. It’s not like it vanished, it simply just wasn’t there anymore. It travelled approx. 4 feet and should have continued into my wall unit logically, in the corner….but didn’t. Now, here’s the weird thing. Just like you said, I tried to logically recreate that shadow but……I couldn’t. Like I said, the shadow was so dark, one had to be only a foot away from the curtain shears to get it that dark. That’s why I call it a silouette. MY shadow, you could clearly see the curtain through. THIS shadow you could not see the curtain through, very well anyway. Also, the weird thing is this shadow appeared BELOW the window sill, on the solid wall part. Not the actual window of which one could say headlights from a car caused it. The space from the window sill to my floor is about 3 feet and this shadow head, no body by the way, was approx.1-2 feet wide. I did not feel an evil presence about it but definately felt automatically it was a woman. A cloaked woman for sure because the outline for a cloak including a perfect outline of her nose was totally apparent! It’s like those silouette pics. you do in public school with the projectors and you trace the outline. I have never in my life seen anything that I couldn’t explain away. Lots of floor creaking in this new house ( everyone says it’s the wood floors expanding upstairs ) O.k, I am willing to accept that. A few other minor things have happened that I guess can be explained but not this. Not when it comes to my own…very observant eyes I might add! Also, when my husband and I tried to recreate this by walking across the window with the exact light on that I had on that night, all we got was a tall shadow, very see through, limbs and everything of my husband. Certainly, not even a fraction close to what I saw. And, I had my husband go real close to the window to recreate the head I saw with no body and like I said, he had to be only a foot away to get it that dark AND the shadow of his head was reflected onto the curtain so small…I just laughed. I remember saying Andre, that’s not even close to what I saw. Good thing I can laugh about this. So, any feedback from you or anyone reading this to confirm this or give me some insight on this would be appreciated. I hope my comments help confirm what you saw. Before this sighting, I had never ever heard of shadow people or shadow ‘folk ‘ as they are referred to.

    Regards, Sherri

    Hi Sherri,

The way that you explain the shadow is pretty close to being spot on to the shadow that I saw that night. My own shadows were always too long or too “thin” in that I could easily see through them. In short, the shadows that I made in my attempt to recreate what I saw were obviously from me. What I saw move across the other room was much darker than its surroundings, moved very quickly and vanished (didn’t fade away, simply was no longer there).

It’s interesting that you saw only the head of the shadow. When you say that there was no body and was only the head, do you mean that no other part of the figure was visible or was the rest of the figure beneath the floor? I think that I understand you but I just want to clearify. :)

I’ve had a few experiences with shadow people. You can use the Google search box in my menu and select “himysk.com” to search my blog for Shadow Daemon, Shadow People or simply the word Shadow. Alternatively, they’re all tucked away into the Paranormal Experiences category and can be found in there if you don’t mind scanning over various other posts.

    G’day,

Yes, I’m still up! So funny you mentioned all the paranormal experiences in your website cause I just read every single one of them. That’s why I’m still up. When you definately see something, you try to read everthing you can so I can deem myself not crazy and not hallucinating!

So, yes…..it was just the head and so weird that you say what you did cause I thought the exact same thing that maybe the body would be like under the floor if it was to continue. But now that I think about it again, where theneck part of the shadow ended I am almost positive that I remember seeing curtain under still underneath because the curtain goes right to the floor and the shadow neck didnot blend into the floor. It was literally as if the body was cut off at the neck…a clean line I might add. Also, you describe shadow things as moving very fast. I feel that what I saw moved not that fast. That’s sort of how I know what I saw because I watched “her” move so obvious across the lower part of the wall/curtain.
Compared to you….I like my curtain lady…I tell ya, if I see any critters running around this house…..I may just freak out a little!! Ha Ha

Well, now I know who to e-mail if anything weird happens again. Thanks for getting back to me. Soooo going to bed.

Good Night ( or morning )

    Sherri

You keep the same hours that I do… or at least on that night you did :)

Sorry about the delay in getting back. I go through stages of simply not being social.

Heh heh, thankfully the small shadow people weren’t intrusive beyond the obvious state of being inside of my house. :) They did not interact with me or anyone else in the house nor my pets, not even so much as to look in our general direction.

It was as though my house, for whatever reason, was the quickest way to reach a “job” (metaphorically speaking) that they had to get done and the job was the only thing that existed to them.

I’ve always believed that there are different ‘races’ of shadow people in the exact same way that there are different ‘races’ of people. It would seem that, if not a ghost, what you saw was a different type of shadow person from what I’ve seen.

Hope that you slept well. ;)
